Aquascape Lake Beneficial Bacteria restores the ecosystem in lakes and large ponds, keeping water clean, clear, and healthy while significantly reducing maintenance. This specially formulated treatment is fortified with prebiotics to improve probiotic growth and enhance water quality. Aquascape Lake Bacteria Packs will not cause the floating sawdust effect often seen with other lake bacteria treatments. This treatment is for lake and large pond use only and may cause issues in small enclosed systems. Safe for fish, plants, and animals when used as directed.  Each tub contains 48 or 192 packs.

Why do you need Beneficial Bacteria?

Beneficial Bacteria is naturally occurring in all healthy water systems.  These tiny invisible bacteria, break down excess nutrients in the water, removing food from the less desirable blanketweed, duck weed and sources of green water.  By boosting these numbers, nutrients which have come in on the rain, animal waste, dying plants etc, will be kept at a low level, providing beautiful clear water.  This is a concentrated formula, however, it may take several months to see results, depending on the size of your system.  Flow through systems may need additional treatment as the concentrations cannot build up as easily.  Providing large areas of surface area such as with plants or gravels will provide places for the beneficial bacteria to colonise.  This is completely safe for dogs, wildlife, ducks, frogs and for if it is released downstream.  For best results, team this with added oxygen, either through Lake Treatment Booster for those without a power socket, or Pro Air 60 diffuser for those with a power source.

Why do you need Oxygen?

Healthy ponds work under aerobic conditions (presence of oxygen), meaning there is a healthy life cycle taking place in the water.  Beneficial Bacteria consume the decaying organics as they always do, however, this process uses up oxygen within the water. By adding oxygen, you can increase the efficiency and speed of their breakdown of nutrients.

How Often:

Use alongside Lake Sludge Remover Packs and Lake Phosphate Binder packs in water over 0°C.  Alternatively this is great for green or smelly water.  Boost its performance with Lake Treatment Booster

How To:

Toss the closed water dissolvable pouches into the water twice a month.  One pouch treats 250m² and there are 192 packs per box.

Do not use in smaller bodies of water
