How To Move Fish

The Pond Shark Net and Pond Shark Pro can help you to safely move your fish.  Gently and smoothly move below the fish, firmly pulling up to the surface.  Calmly move the fish into the new location with water from the pond at the same temperature to reduce stress. Cover with a net in case of jumpers!  Check out our Protective Pond Netting for a durable and reusable solution.

If they are in there for more than a day, add a bubbler for oxygen and plants for shade.

Treat the water with Protect for Ponds when they have been returned to reduce stress and help heal any injuries.

How to Collect Debris

The Pond Shark Net and Pond Shark Pro have the protected rim with teeth for rummaging around in rocks and gravel to dislodge sunken leaves and debris in your stream or at the bottom of your pond.  Combing gently through plants will detangle the algae with minimal damage.

The best way to prevent scooping up wildlife is to move slowly and gently as once they are tangled up in algae, it is very difficult for them to escape without help.  Once you have checked your net, you can look professional by giving it a shuffle around to create a neat ball within the net.  With a well timed wrist flick, the ball of debris will neatly pop out of your net into the bucket, leaving very little residue to clean out of the net.  Rinse your nets after each clean to prevent infection.

If you do happen to tear a net, we have replacement nets
