Say goodbye to string algae with the Aquascape IonGen System G2! Ideal for use in ponds, Pondless® Waterfalls, and other decorative water features. The IonGen System G2 effectively kills algae without the use of traditional liquid chemicals. The system helps to control algae growth throughout the entire system (up to 95,000L) by using a microprocessor that sends a signal to its ion-producing probe. The Aquascape IonGen System G2 is compatible with water containing fish and plants. Its simple-to-install, energy-efficient design makes the IonGen System G2 a perfect choice for the discriminating pond owner or professional.
As copper ions are added to the water, the probe is consumed and will need replacing perhaps annually depending on use. The IonGen™ Probe for the G2 System is specially designed to fit the second generation IonGen™ flow chamber, allowing for a tool-free probe installation and trouble-free use. The included 5 foot quick-connect cable makes installation simple and easy.
This is not suitable for ponds with fish or for those looking for a true Wildlife Pond as the copper changed the pH of the water slightly. For algae control in wildlife ponds or for those with fish, have a look at our Auto Doser. The copper ions may also react with other metals and so this is not suitable for ponds in zinc or Corten coated ponds.
Instructions for installing your IonGen™ replacement Probe:
Tool free installation. Simply open the Ion Gen housing and unscrew the connection before pulling out the quick connect pins. Replace with the new Ion Gen and hand tighten for a water resistant seal.
Top Tips
Position the probe in moving water, either near the pump, waterfall or fountain for the best result.
Keep the probe on low, raising it up during algae blooms until they subside. This will prolong the lifetime of each probe and keep the water healthier for some more robust wildlife to call your pond home.
