Natural Filtration

Each kit includes everything necessary to create a balanced, self-sustaining ecosystem that requires minimal upkeep. At the heart of the system is the BioFalls waterfall filter, which sits at the top of the stream. The BioFalls acts as a natural filtration system—water upwells through the filter, where sponges filled with beneficial bacteria break down excess nutrients and organic matter. This is how we keep the water naturally clean and clear.

Waterfalls

As the water tumbles down through the waterfalls, it is naturally oxygenated, ensuring a healthy, balanced environment for both your fish and plants. The movement of the water through the cascading waterfalls also adds a soothing aesthetic, bringing the beauty of nature into your garden.

Naturalistic Pond

To further promote water quality, we use rocks and gravel to line the pond. These materials create a vast surface area for beneficial bacteria to thrive, continuing the natural cleaning process. The rocks also serve as a beautiful visual feature, creating plant pockets and providing vital habitats for wildlife to shelter and forage.  You can use any rocks although try to keep away from alkaline stone like limestone as this can promote algae growth.

Easy Maintenance

On the opposite side of the waterfalls, our skimmer efficiently removes surface debris to keep your pond clean. The skimmer is equipped with a debris basket and sponges.  These protect the pump and keep it safe from wildlife while making it easy to maintain. The skimmer pulls in debris from the water’s surface, preventing organic waste from sinking to the bottom of the pond and rotting, which could affect water quality.

Safe For Nature

The system’s energy efficient pump is housed safely within the skimmer, where it is protected by the debris basket and sponges. The pump is connected by a pipe back to the BioFalls, completing the water cycle. Additionally, each kit includes a SL Doser that continuously drips beneficial bacteria into the water, further boosting the pond’s natural filtration system. This addition is completely safe for fish, wildlife, and pets and will make your water sparkle.

Durability

To protect the structural integrity of the pond, the flexible liner is made from 1.15mm EDPM rubber.  This is durable and resistant to damage. It is supported by a protective fleece that shields the liner from sharp stones and tree roots. For added durability, when building professionally, we also include an additional fleece layer to create a nearly bulletproof system.  We love using a flexible membrane as you can create bespoke features like planting pockets or boggy beaches to encourage more wildlife.
